How do you know when you need a new set of ceramic straighteners?

I have some hairtools ceramic straighteners that are about 4 years old. Recently I have been noticing that hair products seem to build up on the plates, so that they need cleaning after every time you use them.

They didn’t used to do this, and it’s quite annoying – has anyone else experienced it? Do I just need to fork out for some new straighteners?

Yup when it starts caking up like that it means the ceramic platting is wearing down… its not only annoying but can be bad for your hair… I love hot tools hair straightners they arent that expensive and work great!!!
